Rates Likely to Jump

The average 30-year fixed-rate mortgage increased 5 basis points in Freddie Mac’s latest weekly survey. Mortgage rates are headed higher according to more than two-thirds of the 100 panelists surveyed by Bankrate.com. Movement in the 10-year Treasury yield also suggests rates might rise further.
