Purchase Activity Lowest in Nearly a Decade

Purchase applications were down 14 percent in the Mortgage Bankers Association’s latest Weekly Mortgage Applications Survey. It was the lowest level for purchase activity since December 2000, MBA said. Depite the decline, overall applications were up 3 percent.
